Directions to Open Arms Church

What we believe

A faith centered on Jesus Christ.

Open Arms is a church shaped by Scripture, prayer, the saving work of Jesus Christ, and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Our confession Jesus Christ is Lord. Romans 10:9

Our foundation

We believe.

One God. One Savior. A Spirit-filled life shaped by Scripture.

Scripture

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16

One God

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years. John 1:1

We believe in the blessed hope, the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming. Titus 2:13

Salvation and baptism

The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ. John 14:6

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. Titus 3:5

We believe in water baptism by immersion. Matthew 28:19

A Spirit-filled life

The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. 1 Peter 2:24

The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

By the sanctifying power and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. Galatians 5:16–25

Resurrection and eternity

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation. Revelation 20:11–15

A simple beginning

A clear path to faith.

Purpose is not something we have to invent alone. Christian faith begins with knowing God and receiving the life offered through Jesus Christ.

“Everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him.” Colossians 1:16
  1. We are sinful.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

  2. Be willing to repent and turn away from sin.

“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23

  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

  4. You must receive Him.

Those who receive Him are given the right to become children of God. John 1:12

A prayer of faith

You can begin with a simple prayer.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior and Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Receiving Christ is the beginning of a personal relationship with God. You can talk with Him in prayer at any time.

Come as you are

There is a place for you this Sunday.

Morning Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. at 33015 W. Seven Mile Road in Livonia.
